Chairmanship - Trust Annual Report 1984

Chairmanship of the Trust itself will change at the Annual General Meeting. Having taken on the job for three years, I will have completed five, as two excellent prospective successors were obliged to back down at fairly short notice due to business commitments. This time it is my commitments which have brought matters to a head and, besides, I believe my contribution has been made and I grow stale in office; the Trust needs fresh leadership. We are very fortunate indeed that David Weait has accepted the Council's nomination and agreed to take over the chair for one year, in addition to managing the Trust's finances. So, subject to your ratification at the AGM, David will head the Trust for a year while we seek a longer term replacement. I think this will be of great benefit because, amongst the shortcomings of my chairmanship, there has been a lack of administrative development to match the growth in size and scope of the Trust's activities. If anyone can put us on the right path, I am sure David will.
