The New Act An important Act of Parliament has become law during the past year giving local authorities power to make grants to assist in the restoration of important ancient buildings, where owners fmd it impossible to carry out repairs wihtout financial assistance. The Trust was asked to comment on the draft scheme and the Committee was very pleased to do so. Under this scheme the Corporation will make grants totalling £2,000 a year and this is primarily intended to favour those buildings on Mr. Garton's priority list.
