Better Design - Trust Annual Report 1964
Any attempt to improve the standard of design in present day building is to be warmly commended, and the Trust was pleased to receive a booklet entitled "Better Design" produced by the Hampshire County Council Planning Officer giving examples of some of the better building which has taken place recently. To influence design in building is a long process. The conservative attitude of house purchasers and Building Societies is generally blamed, but it seems that the stage is now being reached where the public is ready to accept something better, and it is to be hoped that the process can be speeded up. It will then be possible for such a booklet to show much better examples.
