Mrs. Carpenter-Turner - Trust Annual Report 1966
All members of the Trust will be delighted to congratulate Mrs. Carpenter-Turner on her election as Mayor of Winchester during the present year. She has been an indefatigable foundation member of the Trust. As a very distinguished local historian she has done more than anyone to arouse the interest of citizens in the unique historic city where it is their good fortune to live. For many years her lectures and guided tours have been one of the most popular features of the Trust. Her chairmanship of the Appeals Committee has been brilliantly successful in saving St. Peter Chesil Church, and giving this ancient Mediaeval Church an important place in the life of the community as the Winchester Little Theatre.
