Finance - Trust Annual Report 1969
The accounts show a satisfactory position, bearing in mind that a substantial sum has been paid towards the repayment of the debt still outstanding on the restoration of St. Peter Chesil, which still amounts to £1,600. Interest on this will start to accrue from the 8th August, 1971.
In the future, benefit will be derived from the covenants which members can now make in favour of the Trust, since we were granted the status of a charity in 1968 by the Charity Commissioners. So far 67 members of the Trust have done so, and this will enable us to recover considerable sums from the Commissioners of Inland Revenue in due course. We hope that next year more members will find it possible to pay their subscriptions in this way.
