Restorations - Trust Annual Report 1971

Two items of news have delighted our members this year. The restoration of the Manor of God Begot is a very welcome event.

It is an important Winchester building, now put into good order, to make a very attractive shop with the fine gallery above.

This shows the internal timberwork to the best advantage.

In the first booklet from the Department of the Environment "New Life for Old Buildings", Wharf Mill is chosen as one of 22 buildings to illustrate the point that old buildings can have new life for new purposes. We are glad that this particularly worthwhile venture has turned out so well, retaining the character and atmosphere of this very attractive riverside area.
