The Listing of Buildings of Special Architectural or Historic Interest - Trust Annual Report 1974
In our Annual Report for 1971, we gave a brief summary of the criteria for the listing of buildings, at that time in preparation.
In 1974 the new list has been issued, but the circulation is very limited and it may be helpful to give extracts from the preface.
Many members of the Trust live in listed buildings and will have received official notification. It should be remembered that if the owner of a listed building wishes to apply for a loan or grant towards maintenance, it is essential that application should be made to the local authority before any work is begun. Application for grants made retrospectively will invariably be turned down.
The Trust is preparing a map on which all the listed properties are being shown.
