Grants for Listed Buildings - Trust Annual Report 1975

Many owners of listed buildings have a vague idea that Local Authorities can make grants towards houses in need of repair, but are uncertain how they can benefit. Before any work is put in hand, application should be made to the City Council.

If for example, your house has sash windows, which have to be renewed, you will not be able to obtain these ready made from the builders merchant. The replacements will have to be specially made and will be relatively expensive. In this case you would be eligible for a grant to cover the difference between a stock item and one which is a replica of the worn out original.
