The Motorway - Trust Annual Report 1983
The Motorway has disappeared from the main subject headings of the Report for the first time in many years. It is still a matter of great concern, of course, but the official appointment of independent experts to the study of options has produced a widely acceptable solution to the worst problem of the M3 route in relation to Winchester, and the prime cause of dissention over all these years. There is a lesson to be learnt from this in the approach to Winchester's own traffic problems, which should not have escaped the notice of the powers that be.
