Chairman - Trust Annual Report 1985
As I said at the time, I was very acutely aware of the honour that you did to me at the last Annual General Meeting in electing me, a comparative unknown to the majority of you, as your Chairman. I undertook to take on this job for twelve months only whilst we sought someone who would be willing to head the Trust on a more permanent basis. I am very pleased to tell you that David Middleditch has accepted the Council's nomination and agreed to take over the Chair. This is of course subject to the ratification by members at the Annual General Meeting. At last year's Meeting, it was my happy duty to express on your behalf the Trust's warmest thanks to Michael Carden for his five years of Chairmanship. At the time, I thought I understood the enormous amount of work that he had undertaken. I must admit that my judgement as to what I would have to do was awry and we have only achieved anything this year as a result of the enormous help of Gill Graham and all members of Council. However, I do feel that some progress has been made in improving the administrative structure of the Trust and, more importantly, some new faces have joined us and are taking on key roles.
