Lectures and Walks - Trust Annual Report 1989

Mrs Ann Jones has organised another full and successful programme of events which has again included lectures at the Heritage Centre and the Milner Hall and a number of walks and visits. These included a Walkabout led by Robin Freeman to view Owen Browne Carter's work in Winchester, visits to Romsey to see projects in which the Romsey and District Building Preservation Trust have been involved and to the offices of the Hampshire Chronicle, and the perennially favourite tour of the roofs, tower and stair turrets of Winchester Cathedral led by Mrs Corinne Bennett. Talks were given on the Queen and Winchester, 1588 by our President, the Whitchurch Silk Mill by Deane Clark, Artists in Architecture by Graeme Stevenson and on the Needs of People with Visual Impairment by William Kirby.

This side of the Trust's activities is an important one and we are anxious to have members views. Any criticisms, suggestions to Mrs Ann Jones please (Tel: Winchester 67048).
