Hon. Treasurer's Report for the year ended 30th April 1993 - Trust Annual Report 1993

The profit on ordinary activities for the year was £1,330 compared to a loss in the previous year of £310 as follows:

1993 1992
Profits (Losses) on Ordinary Activities
Trust 2810 2738
Heritage Centre (2005) (3615)
Heritage Centre Shop 525 (1408) 567 (3048)
Profit £1330 £(310)

The Trust Surplus of £2,810 was achieved after providing for improved facilities for the storage of the Trust's archives and setting up a Fund to enable grants to be made on a structured basis for small projects which enhance, or encourage the enhancement of, the character and ambience of Winchester. It is intended that annual additions will be made to the Fund and a committee has been appointed to recommend suitable projects for the Trust to undertake now and in the future.

The reduced Heritage Centre loss of £1,480 has been achieved, despite considerable refurbishment of the Heritage Centre at a cost of £1,250, by some excellent fundraising of £2,344 by means of a fine art auction and a continuing contribution from shop sales.

The overall surplus for the year of £1,330 increases the Trust's Accumulated reserves to £202,079 at historic cost. This gives the Trust substantial support for future activities.

The attached schedules detail the Consolidated Balance Sheet and Income and Expenditure Accounts of the Trust and the Heritage Centre.

Copies of the Statutory Accounts are available at the Heritage Centre for inspection.
