Hon. Treasurer's Report for the year ended 30th April 1994 - Trust Annual Report 1994

The profit on the ordinary activities for the year was £1,069 compared with £1,330 in 1993 as follows:

1994 1993
Preservation Trust 2925 2810
Heritage Centre - general (2485) (2005)
Heritage Centre - shop 629 (1856) 525 (1480)
Profit 1069 1330

The Trust Surplus of £2,925 included in Income a legacy of £1,000 from the late Mrs Phyllis Pare, and on Expenditure a grant of £2,500 to Save Britain's Heritage (SAVE) towards the ultimately successful campaign in support of the Conservation Scheme for Peninsula Barracks.

The Heritage Centre loss of £1,856, after taking into consideration the contribution from the shop of £629, would have been lower if the cost of the burglaries of over £700 had been excluded. Apart from this, actual costs and income were close to budget for the year.

The overall surplus for the year of £1,069 together with an exceptional item of a gain on the sale of an investment of £11,404 increase the Trust's accumulated reserves to £214,552.

The schedules detail the Consolidated Balance Sheet and Income and Expenditure Accounts of the Trust and Heritage Centre.

Copies of the Statutory Accounts are available for inspection at the Heritage Centre.
