Design Awards 2000 - TrustNews Spring 2000

Members are invited to suggest schemes for this year's Trust Design Award Scheme. The purpose of the scheme is to recognise quality in the design of buildings and landscape within the city of Winchester. If anyone knows of a new building, a new or restored wall or steps, tree planting, sympathetic replacement of windows and doors in listed buildings, good shop fronts or street furniture, completed within the last three years, which they think are worthy to submit to the judging panel, we would like to hear from them.

This year's panel, consisting of two Trust members and two architects, will be chaired by David Rock PPRIBA; well known for its involvement with the Civic Trust, and who, until last year, was President of The Royal Institute of British Architects.

Award winners will be announced at this year's AGM on 6 November. Please send any suggestions to Gill Collymore at Heritage Centre, 32 Upper Brook Street, Winchester S023 8DG, who will be pleased to let you have further information and/ or an entry form.
