Planning Bureaucracy - TrustNews June 10

Scotland, Wales and N Ireland have devolved government but somehow England has lost out. Instead we have a myriad of unelected regional boards, agencies, groups and units. In Hampshire we also have three tiers of elected Local Authorities – and two National Park Authorities as well – all involved in ‘Planning’.

Members of the Trust’s Policy Committee strive to get to grips with who does what and to understand who is influencing our planning and housing policies. This diagram is meant to help us. Surely government should be simpler than this! Maybe under the new government it will be?
