Gill Graham, our last Hon. Secretary, died on 5th December 2009 and we extend our sympathy to her husband Ron, also a great supporter of the Trust. Gill, who served the Winchester Preservation Trust for eleven years until 1988 when they moved to Devon, was renowned for her comprehensive grasp of Trust affairs and her sense of humour. Perhaps the best illustration of her value to the Trust was a question put by David Middleditch, then Chairman, when he learned of Gill’s intended retirement. “What would you regard as the worst fate that could befall a Chairman of the Trust?” A heartfelt cry which sums up her great contribution.
