Longford Castle,
AM Tuesday 9 September 2014

We have 20 places for a private tour of Longford Castle on the river Avon just south of Salisbury, starting at 10:15 am on Tuesday 9 September. The tour will last 2 hours or so and include the gardens. The cost is £12 per person.

The Castle is only open to the public for 28 days a year. It is an unusual Elizabethan building much extended in Victorian times and has been in the same family for 300 years. There is a substantial collection of British and European art, porcelain, tapestries and 18th century furniture.

For more information, visit the National Gallery website and search for “Longford Castle"

PLEASE NOTE:
1. Disabled access is very limited.
2. All group members must supply their full name, address and telephone number in advance.
3. We make our own way to the Castle but bags and cameras will need to be left in cars parked outside.
4. The Radnor Arms in nearby Nunton is open for lunch after the tour.

We expect a lot of interest in this trip so please apply asap to the secretary at the trust office together with cheques made payable to “The City of Winchester Trust Limited” and giving names, addresses and telephone numbers of all those wishing to come.

Places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
