Members visits: What could we do in 2019? - TrustNews Dec 18

Tuesday 4 June: Coach trip to south London to visit the Red House at Bexleyheath, designed by Philip Webb for William Morris, and then Eltham Palace which was built for Edward IV in the 1470s and later restored and extended in Art Deco style for the Courtauld family in the 1930s. Full details and application form will be sent with the March issue of TrustNews.

Below are some possible other visits for 2019. Not all yet researched, but ideas for your comments. We are anxious to gain an impression of likely support for each visit. Some require a good deal of preparation and we wish to avoid making a trip ready for it to be impractical for lack of numbers. So please do respond, by email or telephone, to our Secretary, telling us of your interests and any suggestions of other possible visits.

  • Wadworth‘s Brewery in Devizes, followed by lunch
  • Portsmouth Dockyard
  • Portsmouth fortifications
  • Museum of Army Flying, Middle Wallop
  • Quarr Abbey, l.O.W.
  • Bedford Park, a compact Arts & Crafts suburb in West London
  • Kew Gardens
  • Wells
