Looking across the traffic in St George’s Street to the “Casson block",
designed by Sir Hugh Casson’s firm in 1963 and recently refurbished by Winchester City Council.
The new sculpture between it and the Hampshire Chronicle building on the right is by Holger Lonze,
called Holmweard, Anglo-Saxon for “a warden by the sea or a guard on an island in a river.”
