AGM 2021

The Trust's 2021 AGM was held on 5th October at St Peter's Pastoral Centre, Jewry Street.

The Trust was pleased to host a large number of members at our first 'in person' AGM since the pandemic.

Chairman Keith Leaman opened the formal business by welcoming members, the Mayor of Winchester Cllr Vivian Achwal, Trust President Professor Joy Carter (former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Winchester) and a number of local councillors.

Professor Carter thanked the Trustees for their hard work and Trust members for their support. She gave a brief update on the University and finished by stating her passionate commitment to action on climate change and the ecological crisis. She is keen to work with the Trust on how this action can be integrated into the Trust's activities.

After the formal business, Richard Eastham of Feria Urbanism gave a fascinating talk on neighbourhood planning and Feria's experience of working with the community in Lewes on their Neighbourhood Plan. He also outlined Feria's work in Winchester on the Council's recent Vision exercise. After answering questions from members, attendees were left with much food for thought on whether a Neighbourhood Plan might be an appropriate tool for Winchester City.
