The HGT's work for the conservation of the County's outstanding gardens is expanding rapidly and it urgently needs more members. Although WPT is a corporate member, some of you may wish to consider joining as individuals. The HGT's Spring Newsletter and information on the costs and benefits of membership are available in the Heritage Centre (ask at the desk).
An event which could be of particular interest is the "Winchester Walk" on Sunday 2nd June. This is a walk past City gardens to the site of the mediaeval gardens sponsored by the HGT. The tour will also include St. Catherine's Hill with its interesting flora, and the contrasting wetlands of Winnall Moors.
The tour starts at 10 a.m. and costs X1.50 Participants are advised to bring a picnic lunch and Wellingtons. For further information apply to Mrs. Lucille Ashdown, Events Secretary, HGT, Amberwood, Broad Street, Alresford, mentioning that you are a member of WPT.
