Urban Studies - TrustNews February 1989

This year has been a curious one for our Committee without the guiding hand of Frank Chippindale. All of us, one way or another, feel that he is still looking over our activities. I don't think any of us realised how strong an influence Frank's was as it was so subtly applied!

We have concentrated our efforts in two areas only for the last two meetings:

The potential of running a sponsored day exercise for school children on the built environment and involving architects, town planners, councillors, etc. We have since discovered that there are a number of similar environmental courses in this field, which we are at present researching.

The amalgamation of a slide library which is carrying on a project Frank Chippindale started. We have been disappointed at the response so far but still hope for more donated slides. We ourselves have decided to boost the collection by taking photographs of specific subject matter. A list of these is available from Mr H Sturges if any Trust member is interested in helping.
