The Chippindale Venture - TrustNews Spring 1997
A project is underway with Harestock Primary School, culminating with a presentation day on 17th February. There are 60 children involved, divided into 10 teams, each headed by an architect or landscape architect, with advice being given by town planners.
Each team have the same brief to provide a performing arts centre within the school grounds. They have to evaluate potential sites, the materials of adjoining buildings and the importance of spaces as well as considering the neighbouring houses and access. They then have to produce the scheme!
On 17th February, each team presents this scheme to a panel, who comment constructively on the proposals. Finally, certificates are awarded to each, indicating the fact that they have taken part in the Chippindale Venture programme.
