4 Election of Independent Examiners
That Butler & Co be elected as the Trust’s independent Examiners for the Financial Year 2017– 2018 and that the Council
be authorised to set their remuneration.

Any matters to be raised must be lodged with the Secretary by the closing date of
Wednesday 13 September. Any issues raised may be deferred to a special members meeting.
At the conclusion of the meeting, at approximately 7.30 pm,
Simon Finch, Winchester City Council Assistant Director Environment,
will give a presentation on the City of Winchester Movement Strategy,
which is being jointly undertaken by Winchester City Council and Hampshire County Council
Refreshments will be served at the end of the evening (approximately 8.30 pm)

Simon Finch
Simon Finch has worked at Winchester City Council for 11 years and is currently Assistant Director Environment. Before this he was Head of Planning Management, and prior to joining the Council, he held a range of planning roles in three local authorities situated in the south of England. In his current role he is responsible for a number of frontline services such as Development Management , Building Control, Landscape and Open Spaces, Parking and CCTV and Neighbourhoods and Community Safety, as well as providing a lead on transport-related matters for the Council, including policy development, park and ride and traffic management.

Marjorie Huntley
Marjorie Huntley is a historian who has taught at Southampton University and is currently teaching at Winchester College. She has a special interest in social history and its impact on the evolution of domestic architecture. She is also interested in the environment and supports all the Trust is doing to encourage a sensitive approach to the future development of this historic city.
Barry Lipscomb
Barry was a career civil servant until retiring in 2000. He and his wife moved to Winchester in 1995. Passionate about quality public service and the built and natural environments, Barry was elected to Winchester City Council in 2002, having previously been a New Forest District Councillor from 1979-87. He chaired the key Environment Scrutiny Panel and was a Member of the Planning Development Control, Principal Scrutiny and Standards Committees. He was Mayor in 2011-12. Barry stood down from WCC in 2016. He was a member of the South Downs National Park Authority 2012-16 and is presently a Trustee of Winchester Science Centre and Public Governor for Hampshire / Lead Governor of South Central Ambulance NHS FT. He admits to a reputation for asking searching questions!
Judith Martin
Judith Martin is a buildings conservationist. She worked across the country for the Industrial Buildings Preservation Trust for many years and has worked on the rescue of numerous historic buildings. She is a director of the Heritage Trust Network, and contributed to the 2017 Buildings at Risk Register for SAVE Britain's Heritage. Other than a passion for dereliction - often so much more interesting than the finished product - her interests are the arts and environmental issues, both of which she champions whenever possible.
Arthur Morgan
Artist /Designer/Teacher. Resident in Winchester since 1980. Director of Art School, Winchester College 1980-2004. Member of the Trust since 2005. Chairman of a Planning Appraisal Group panel since 2014.
Iain Patton
I am a retired Solicitor, whose career was in criminal law, first as advocate and latterly as manager. That later experience has proved particularly useful in my work for the Trust. I have lived in Winchester for thirty-eight years and have been a member of the Trust for most of that time. My interest in architecture is of long standing and has been encouraged by my surroundings. I am concerned that the city should evolve without its character changing through over-intensive developments but with the best possible architecture. The Trust's influence in that field could be strengthened by an increase in membership numbers and I am convinced that all existing members should endeavour to recruit new members.
Sue Turner BArch MSc MRTPI
Initially worked as an architect in public and private practice, then as a local authority planner specialising in conservation and design. Recently retired after 17 years as a Planning Inspector, running public inquiries and Local Plan examinations. Now carrying out occasional consultancy work. Retains a professional interest in conservation, housing and strategic planning, underpinned by a firm commitment to sustainability and public engagement.

The Stripe Auditorium is on the ground floor of the Stripe Building at The University of Winchester, Sparkford Road, Winchester SO22 4NR. Parking will be provided in the main University car park, please follow signs from Sparkford Road. A full map can be provided upon request to the Secretary.
