PRESS RELEASE

Winners of the 2016 Civic Voice Design Awards
Announced at Parliamentary Event

At an event in Parliament, attended by Civic Trusts from all over the country, eleven awards were handed out that recognised the excellence of new buildings, restoration projects, and public realm contributions.

The City of Winchester Trust put forward one scheme that we felt fitted the criteria. This was the housing recently completed in St Valentine’s Close, Winchester, by T2 Architects, led by Jeremy Tyrell. This scheme also won the City of Winchester Trust’s Design Award Competition held in 2015. The scheme was short listed by Civic Voice and, in fact, ended up being given one of the eleven awards. The Chairman of the Judges, Max Farrell, stated it was unusual to find a scheme of housing in this country that had such integrity and flair, and contributed so much to the area in which it was placed.
