The need for Preservation - Trust Annual Report 1966
Lord Kennet, Joint Parliamentary Secretary, Ministry of Housing and Local Government, has done great service to the Preservation movement by pointing out that buildings of historic and architectural interest are being destroyed in Britain at the rate of one every day, and this has been proceeding for the last eight years. This would make people wonder how long the 90,000 statutorily listed buildings would last. The Civic Amenities Bill should do much to improve this situation.
