Painted Signs - Trust Annual Report 1970
The Trust has been disturbed recently to see two examples of quite appalling sign painting, one in St. Cross Road and the other in Eastgate Street. It cannot be imagined that the planning committee could possibly approve such strident and discordant fascia boards with crude letter forms and offensive colour. It demonstrates how important it is that such boards should be controlled and that the controls should be effective.
