Membership - Trust Annual Report 1980
Subscriptions from members remain the bread and butter of our existence not only for the essential running costs of the Trust but the moral support and justification your commitment gives us in continuing a task which, though rewarding in many ways, is often arduous, sometimes frustrating and for a few has even called for courage beyond the call of duty! We would very much like to increase the number of members for the same reasons: financially to avoid subscription increases, and morally to add weight to the voice of the Trust. But before embarking on a membership drive we would like to tidy up a situation which has been making life increasingly difficult for the Membership Secretary and the Treasurer. Although most subscriptions fall due on May 1st, there are a considerable number spread around other months of the year. Not only does this complicate accounting but is one of the more frustrating experiences when it comes to following up overdue or underpaid subscriptions. A resolution will therefore be put to the AGM to establish a single renewal date.
