Planning Applications - Trust Annual Report 1983

Planning applications have continued to receive the attention of the Trust throughout the year. Some, like the super-store applications for Badger's Farm and Bushfield Camp, have been so far-reaching in their implications that our Town Planning Committee is still considering the matter. Others, like the Royal Hotel additions, the SCATS site development and the Capital House scheme, have been presented to the Trust Council by cooperative developers and their architects, receiving mixed but always constructive comment. The largest number, too many to mention, have been painstakingly monitored by our viewing panels and comments sent in to the planners as regularly as they can manage. A mainstay of these panels has been past Council member and imperturbable supporter of the Trust, John Harrison, and it is with a great sadness and sense of loss that we mourn with Helene Harrison his sudden death while on holiday in Canada.
