The Westgate - Trust Annual Report 1983
The Trust has now been informed that the scheme for repaving the Westgate, largely in accordance with Donald Insall's original proposals, has been approved and will be carried out by the County Council in this year's financial programme. This is an important project, which will partly offset the unfortunate isolation of the gate on the north side by the demolition of the adjacent buildings. The Trust's role in achieving this long-delayed improveŽment has been vital, and it is gratifying to know that it has been done at little more expense to us than the prepŽaration of the plans.
