Landscape Committee - Trust Annual Report 1987

Due to pressure of work, Hugh Watson has had to stand down as Chairman and it is hoped that Michael Morris will be his successor. The Committee Secretary, Mrs. Penny Neyroud, was out of action for three months due to illness and so few meetings have taken place.

The area surrounding Weeke Pond and Church continue to cause anxiety. The curious coloured paint used on the pond and the barbed wire adorning the fences of Pond Cottage are hardly appealing. The lychgate to the former private burial ground was unhappily demolished rather than repaired and the burial ground has been bulldozed.

The Committee would welcome suggestions from members on "eyesores" which might be improved and on sites where trees might be established.
