Urban Studies Committee - TrustNews April 1986
Under the active and imaginative chairmanship of Frank Chippindale, this relatively new Committee is generating a lot of activity (see the starred items in our current programme). It is also liaising closely with Richard Baker, who is coordinating the City Council's "Time for Design" initiative.
The lunchtime talks, which started last year in the Heritage Centre, were so popular that space became a problem. And so they moved to the Guildhall in January. (Of course, events which can be held in the Heritage Centre will be held there).
Members of the Committee are working on two publications: "The Brooks Town Trail for Children" and a new booklet about the High Street entitled "From Cathedral to Castle". It is planned to launch both on 8th May, during Environment Week (see environment week article).
