Hampshire Butterfly Report - TrustNews July 1991
Forty eight species of Hants and Isle of Wight butterflies are described in the most recent Hampshire Butterfly Report. This is a distillation of 10,000 observations sent in by members and friends during 1990, and tells how each species fared during the long hot summer. The Society's unique computerised register of Hants and IOW butterflies and butterfly sites now contains a total of 20,000 entries for all years. If you would like further information on the species including the Small Tortoiseshell, Chalkhill Blues, Brown Argus, Green Hairstreaks, Clouded Yellow, Painted Lady or the White Admiral, - the Holly Blue is still Butterfly of the Year - write for a copy of the report to Juliet Bloss, 7 Forest Meadow, Butts Ash, Hythe, Southampton SO4 6RH with a cheque for £2 (postage included) made payable to "BBCS Hants Branch".
