Building Plaques - Trust Annual Report 1980
It is intended to mark the completion of the Chernocke Place porch restorations with a plaque commemorating the Royal Silver Jubilee and the 21st anniversary of the Trust. Considerable thought is being given to the design of the plaque, not only for this position, but because it could provide a prototype for further plaques which the Council of the Trust believes might add to the interest of buildings in Winchester.
Apart from previous restorations assisted by the Trust and those that may take place in the future, there are buildings which could be discreetly labelled with details of distinguished residents, designers or historic associations. Before embarking on this project the Trust would of course seek the support of the owners and the City Council.
