Urban Studies Committee - TrustNews January 1987
The Committee's display in the Heritage Centre of old and new photographs of the High Street, together with up-dated drawings, ended on 27th November. It was based on the Trust's booklet "From Cathedral to Castle" and proved very popular.
The exhibition was visited by several voluntary groups and many school parties. The children were then taken to look at the great variety of old buildings still to be seen, even if only on the upper floors. A tape recording by Miss Muriel Croft and Chris Webb of their impressions of the High Street provoked much discussion.
